Tracks: Hopper chaperones lifeless Vietnam friend across the nation by train, but eventuafiy goes bonkers. Cast includes Dennis Hopper, Taryn Power, Dean Stockwell, Topa Swope, Michael Emil, and Zack Norman.  (90 minutes, 1976)

Ju-on The Grudge: Ghosts of a violently killed mom and her child vengefully terrorize and murder a succession of individuals who have a connection with the humble Tokyo home where the murders took place. Not a tale as such, although a succession of eerie scenes, some peacefully scary, others outright horrifying. Cast includes Megumi Okina, Misaki Ito, Misa Uehara, Yui Ichikawa, Kanji Tsuda, Takako Fuji, Kayoko Shibata, Yukako Kukuri, Takashi Matsuyama, and Yuya Ozeki. (92 minutes, 2003)

The Sentinel: Smooth however mindless shocker in reference to N. Y.C. fashion model, who leases a house in Brooklyn, finds it’s full of demons and she’s to be the next protector protecting the gateway to Hell. Cast includes Cristina Raines, Ava Gardner, Chris Sarandon, Burgess Meredith, Sylvia Miles, Jose Ferrer, Arthur Kennedy, John Carradine, Christopher Walken, Eli Wallach, Jerry Orbach, Jeff Goldblum, Beverly D’ Angelo, Martin Balsam, William Hickey, and Tom Berenger. The Great Manhunt: Fable of the West is nothing particularly special as McCrea dreams of oil wells, while Donlevy takes his gal. Stanwyck ages to one hundred in her role. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, Joel McCrea, Brian Donlevy, Thurston Chamber, K. T. Stevens, and Lucien Littlefield. (90 minutes, 1942)

Defiance: Abrasive little film in reference to rootless blue-collar hermit Vincent, who tries to match up his dying kid’s bone marrow on his own. He then tames a ferocious N.Y.C. road gang. Cast includes Jan-Michael Vincent, Craft Camey, Theresa Saldana, and Danny Aiello. (102 minutes, 1980)

Ed Television: Amusing yam in reference to a despondent cable Television network that plans to televise a normal man’s life for every waking minute of the day and turn the meager sap into an overnight star. Cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Jenna Elfman, Woody Harrelson, Sally Kirkland, Martin Landau, Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Reiner, and Dennis Hopper.  (133 minutes, 1999)
