Who Is Your Favorite Bond?

The roles of James Bond has changed over the years. In the last 2 editions, Casino Royale and Quatam Of Solace the bad guys were sort of an ideological buch. Maybe we’ll see bond fighting a search engine optimization consultant next to stay alongside of modern howdy tec industries and the product placements that have come part of the modern James Bond franchise.

But to the question, who is the best bond? That could be a matter only the passing of time will tell. It is maintained that George Lazenby was the nearest actor to portray the Ian Fleming book character on screen. Hard nosed, no bull tough, straight to the core. Some say Daniel Craig has the cold streak that the James Bond personality had on print. Timothy Dalton also appeared to have the toughened edge that Ian Fleming built his characters character.

It’s no doubt he's a cool Bond, but he too is a product of the pragmatic action sequence a la the Jason Bourne U.S. spy defector franchise. Some of the Bon’s of the 70′s and 80′s look very dated with an aging Sean Connery & Roger Moore were dodgy flares, suits, dance soundtracks and ageing looks. But that is the problem with Bond’s they seem to be a outer display of the time, and what looks date now, may become a time reference or kitsch obsession in another decade.

Another problem is that Bond is always played by a middle-aged actor. After the end of a run of 5 films straight over 10 years it doesn't always seem credible to see a middle aged man jump out of a plane without a parachute. But that's the whimsical nature of Bond.

One thing for sure the power of the franchise isn't fading. Theatre taking are massive, and fans simply cannot get enough of trivia and banter about their illustrious hero. Style icon or rich kid, James always appears to have his way.

Many of us top Bond seems to be Sean Connery. But ten years or so later occasionally the loyalty has went to Roger Moore or maybe it is going to be Daniel Craig after he does 1 or 2 more. We should hope regardless of what the tale continues.

Bond Is Back For 2012

March 14th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

James Bond has finally seen the go ahead to start filming in time for 2012 after worries that MGM would not be able to carry on and pay for the movie. Now that the supreme Kind of the spy gadgetsis coming back with Craig still in the shoes but what are we going to expect from the movie this time round?

Last Go For Craig?

My thinking is one of the very last times that we will see Craig as Bond and this is because it would make sense to end his “trilogy” on a high and before he gets too old. You have never really see a trilogy of movies before in the Bond franchise and although we have seen common trends such as Spectre and the Cold War we have not have a concentrated narrative on Bond before that has lasted the course of three movies so it shall be interesting to see the end of it.

The Last Bond Movie Ever??

With MGM finding it tough to even make this movie and ideas running very low from Ian Flemings stories (they have been using short stories or at least titles found in his works recently) could this movie be the last we ever see of Bond?

One of good things about MGM is that they have recently merged so they can make sure that Bond carries on and I believe that it is going to carry on for the foreseeable future. However, will things really be the same with MGM not making the movies.

Whilst you will notice that has not been anything like vehicle tracking systems or listening bugin the last couple of movies I am hoping that this one will involve a few more gadgets!

At the very least we have another great Bond movie to look forward to in 2012!

Bond You Need The Gadgets Back

October 12th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

I have recently just purchased all of the James Bond collection and watching them through you do not realise just how many gadgets are in the films. I have like many people my age seen them all before but as I am now older and watching them again you get to see a better angle at the gadgets that were used.

At the moment I am about to start the man with the golden gun but I have seen them all before as previously said and they just do not tend to use the cool gadgets they used to in these movies, they also do not have the impact they used to which is a great shame. Why is this and why do you never see things like voice recorders and other spy gadgets in Bond anymore?

The New Films Do Not Follow Older Ones

It seems to be that as soon as Daniel Craig stepped in the directors and writers have taken a different approach from the previous films in that the gadgets involved are few and far between and that when they do feature they are rather dull and simple gadgets like perhaps hidden spy cameras or something like this.

Even Daniel Craig himself has suggested that he wants gadgets in the film as to him playing Bond is not only about the women, fast cars and action sequences but the gadgets also. The gadgets have saved Bond’s life on numerous occasions over the years and have helped him to get rid of many main villains and bad guy during the years too!.

The last two Bond films have been okay but have been more like the Bourne films over anything else and this is not good enough, we need the gadgets to come back.

If they ever get round to the new film let us hope they will contain gadgets again to show the fans it is not going downhill from here!

Home Made James Bond The Only Way To Save Franchise

September 3rd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

Stories around the internet claim the latest James Bond film, as yet untitled, has hit the rocks with filming suspended, at least for now. The real truth is less sensational and more boring with the brutal honesty being a lack of cash, particularly from studio MGM.

The roaring lion studio (aka MGM) have worked on all of the previous 22 bond films and looked set for number 23film begin soon, but thats been put on ice as MGM try to figure out their $3bn+ debts With the eagles circling, MGM has only managed one release in 2010 so far. The former Hollywood grandee has put out just one film this year as the eagles circle to take over the stricken movie maker. Two other companies have put bids in for MGM, but neither were accepted, falling some way short of the $2bn valuation from MGM, so Bond 23 doesnt look like getting under way.

Whilst speculating that Quantum of Solace will be the last James Bond movie ever is a little wild, fans were expecting to see Mr Bond leaving a trail of gorgeous women around airport hotels and downing dry martinis at the bars by 2011, the 50th It seems highly unlikely a timely solution will be found considering the debt problems and the fact that lead actor Daniel Craig is away filming other projects right now, but Bond is renowned for extracting himself from impossible positions, so who knows. That seems unlikely given Daniel Craig is busy filming other projects and Bond 23 has no money right now, but as the great man once said, never say never, again.

How about a home movie to keep the fans happy? We’ll need some help though from a volunteer, preferably under 50, male and with his own teeth. All we need is a volunteer, ideally male and with at least half a brain. and bars to pay visit to, 1 bottle of Martini, shaken, not stirred and the obligatory cocktail glass with and umbrella Gatwick airport hotels and bars to drop in, one bottle of Martini and a cocktail glass resplendant with umbrella. Add in a roulette table somewhere, a pretty lady and a fast car and we pretty much have the ingredients for Bond 23 or James Bond: Debtraker.

YouTube tomfoolery aside, the industry’s 3rd most popular franchise movie series of all time can’t be ignored for long. MGM are well aware of the Bond franchise, having seen takings of over $500million on both of the last two films and hoepfully they can leverage that power to sort a deal out that returns our favourite spy to the screens, sooner rather than later.

Why We Love James Bond

August 27th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

It almost seems impossible that the James Bond movies are approaching 50 years of age and now span 22 movies in the series. Certainly Lord of the Rings, Start Wars and Harry Potter have been ourstandingly successful too and in some measures more so, but few can argue with the seemingly eternal appeal of the James Bond films.

The attraction of James Bond is clear to see; as they say every woman wants to be with Bond and every man wants to be him, there is something in his character which people universally idenify with. He can do anything he wants if he puts his mind to it, which is certainly an attractive quality, especially if it is you that possesses it. And as well as being able to do anything, he also knows exactly what he wants and how to order it in any situation he finds himself; quite the opposite to many of us who can hardly function at a party when we meet people we don’t know.

Although the early films made a start out of Sean Connery, the films are bigger than a single actor. Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig have all donned the tuxedo and ordered a vodka martini, skaen, not stirred. What they have in common is a selection of one-liners to get them out of any situation and don’t forget those gadgets, from the cool – remember the jetpack – to the ridiculous – the gondola that turns into a hovercraft in Moonraker must take the prize for dumbest gadget.

And the appeal of James Bond is universal, with people of all ages flocking to the new movies. While the older generation may hark back to the days of Sean Connery, the movies continually reinvent themselves for a new generation. Just look at the difference between From Russia With Love, Moonraker and Casino Royale, for instance.

Back in April production was suspended indefinitely on the next movie – currently known as Bond 23 – due to the crisis at MGM, it is unknown when the next James Bond movie will be released. I don’t think I’m alone in hoping it won’t be long before work resumes on the next 007 movie.
