If you came to a decision that your calling is in the film industry, then it is the right time for you to figure out which aspect of the film industry would you like to be a part of and what you need to do to be part of it. After you have made up your mind, the next most significant aspect to consider is the school that you are going to spend more time learning in. It’s a tough nut to crack to make a choice and what’s even tougher is when you have already enrolled and there’s no going back. Well, there is actually but it is totally such a huge waste of time and money.

One thing to consider is the school’s reputation and attitude. Same as humans, schools exude a special type of attitude that makes them different from other schools. And that is the reason why people resort to typecasting students that come from a certain school just like: Eddie won’t ride a cab to work. He would opt for a driver to drive him to work. He is from Princeton, mind you.

Now, film production enhances the artistic side of any person. Movies are of course stories and it is the duty and responsibility of the film production crew to be able to create the film in the most beautiful and most entertaining way possible, and that takes a lot of learning, training, and experience.  The art of being a part of it and a viewer at the same time is really a challenging task. One has to be really objective in the sense that he has to combine the things that he likes to see and what he perceives as what the audience wants to witness. Well, to cut a long story short, film production schools will teach you the basics on how to plan, cast, direct, and shoot movies, and how to maximize the roles of each individual on the set.

Film production schools will let you do a lot of things and the following are only some of them:

- What to shoot, how to shoot, and edit the scenes that you took repeatedly to come up with what you think would be the best representation of the screen onscreen.

-Offer you knowledge from the constructive criticism of your professors and peers.

-Film production schools will allow you to invest your money to come up with your own cast, create your own props, and buy your own film.

My Diving Is Thanks To The Bond Franchise

August 22nd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

Diving is something that I never really fancied doing before. Diving was not only something that I never really fancied doing before but was also something I thought to be boring and very risky and dangerous but something happened when I purchased all of the James Bond collection on DVD a few months ago, now I had seen all of them before but it was not until watching them through again that you realise just how much of a part diving took part in the movies and it got me thinking aboutscuba diving holidays after all.

The Moments That Made Me Change My Mind?

The moment or film as I should put it that really changed my mind on all of this was Thunderball, one of the many in which Sean Connery was in. A lot of this film is set underwater and despite not really being able to see many of the underwater life (thanks to the film being filmed in an underwater set) it does trick you into believing that going on a dive could actually be a fantastic idea.

one of the really good thing about going diving whilst not being James Bond is that you do not have to take on killer sharks or of course a gang of underwater assassin with harpoon guns, this is always a good thing and will certainly help you out a lot. So I went to the nearest diving place to me and turned up with no knowledge and booked myself a lesson for later in the day. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it, in fact so much that I went forward and booked some shark diving out in those Maldives diving locations.

So thanks Mr Bond for giving me a great new hobby to go and try out, I will keep doing this and who would have thought a movie franchise would provide me with a decent hobby to try out!

Is A Filmmaking School Required?

August 2nd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

The only possible reason for people not to consider a filmmaking school is when they treat the craft merely as past-time.  The truth is that to make a movie is more than just a hobby that you do when it’s free time. It requires more than fleeting interest and seeks perfection same as any other profession. Thus, it is essential that such schools operate for people with talent in filmmaking to train and develop their talent and their craft. After all, film creation is not merely just an art. After almost a century of evolution, it has achieved the level of becoming a science.

Unlike the impression of the academe though, a filmmaking school is less formal and is often more fun.  Normally, the academic atmosphere would demand that a student should absorb not only his principles but also other information related to his course.  A school in film creation doesn’t have this character. Instead of giving out too much theories and information on the student, it whets the student’s thirst for knowledge on the subject and draws out more of his imaginative ability. Therefore, such school induces the student to come out with artistic ideas more than absorbing inputs.

It is for this reason that teachers in a filmmaking school should not just be able to spoon-feed their students with their ideas.  Instead, they should be able to encourage students to be unique with their imaginations. In fact, they make sure that the concepts that students produced are not confined with the usual or mainstream cinema, knowing that the evolution of filmmaking relies not on what is in existence but on the innovative and unique imaginations of future filmmakers. They are not only teachers but coaches and counselors who motivate their students instead of restrict them.

If you are quite keen on developing your skills in making movies, you can certainly have advantages by enrolling in a filmmaking school. Luckily you won’t have to be in a real school and spend prolonged hours inside the drab classroom. The Internet makes it possible for you to complete an entire course in film-making right at the comforts of your own home. Of course, this does not mean that you can be less serious about the course. If you’re truly interested in the art, you will discipline yourself to follow schedules and comply with the curriculum requirements. This wouldn’t be too hard for someone who desires to make films.  You may not even think of them as sessions or routines you can’t get away from but rather as fun learning times. You may also consider the films you are tasked to create as opportunities to develop your craft.

July 30th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

The world of film creation would demand talent and skills, whether that is technical or not. If you are intending to join the industry, you need to have a film training. You can choose form the many outfits both online and off that offer training for those who are interested in filmmaking and the future filmmakers.

There are aspects you have to keep in mind when it comes to choosing the film training course that you are to take from the institution you have selected to give you this. These are the most pertinent, among many.

Whether you are located in the US or the UK or anywhere else, when you plan to study filmmaking you should be aware of your interest. Some training courses focus on directing while others deal with scriptwriting. In this sense, you should be familiar about the various aspects of filmmaking to help you decide about the right course you are to enroll in.

You must be able to decide whether you want a personal or one-on-one training or a filmmaking course that deals with a group of trainees. Advantages and disadvantages go with these options of course. You get specialized film education if you have a personal trainer but you can also learn from the insights, ideas, and experiences of your fellow trainees when you join a group course.

Would you like to undergo film training in a classroom set-up from a film academy or would you like to study a film course online where you can do so at your own pace and schedule? Figure out the benefits and disadvantages again and see if it fits your lifestyle.

Then the most significant part is choosing the film institution you entrust your filmmaking knowledge to. Check out the track record and reputation of the institution. With track record, that includes the number of graduates who in fact made it to the real film world and perhaps much better if the institution was able to produce big wigs in the industry. Of course, you have to check out if the course you are intending to study is available too.

A formal film study will provide formality and discipline to your craft. With a couple of training from the school of hard knocks, you are on your way to a prosperous career in the film industry.

The World’s Best Film Schools

July 29th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

All schools offer various perks. That’s why schools have varying identities and characteristics. You might hear from some people that the school is often blamed for the image a certain individual projects to the public. As an example, you might hear the statement: “Well, he acts like that because he is a graduate of the Blank Wall University. All the students who graduated from that school are just like that.” And this interference is not without logic. A specific culture and characteristic is attributed to a certain school because of peer pressure.

So, to determine the best film school is quite easy. The answer relies on what you want to gain from your film school experience. Every particular film school has its certain attributes and features that the best thing you have to do is to find it out first. The country where the school is situated will also play an important role in knowing the character of a specific film school.

There are a lot of aspects to consider: the type of courses offered, the length of time each subject is covered, the number of written modules versus the number of actual practice, the incorporators of the college and the course itself, guests appearing in certain key lectures, and the reputation the school exudes and whether that would really matter in the end of the course. I always believe it will. It helps how you move in the world, whether up or down. However, in the real world of film, degrees runout of value and what has more weight is track record and experience. No amount of argument can topple track record and innate talent. A few examples of schools of impeccable status and reputation are:

American Film Institute

New York University

California State of the Arts

University of Southern California

University of California – Los Angeles

Aside from the United States, there are two noted film schools that anybody who’s interested can opt for and they are: the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School and the United Kingdom’s National Film and Television School. Not too belittle the capacity of other international schools to teach ably the art of filmmaking but rest assured that there are those that can come at par with these schools mentioned. What one needs to do is run a deep research on his aspirations in the film industry, the culture that he wants to inculcate on himself, and where he would be most comfortable in.

A Filmmaking Software Is Great Aid For Any Filmmaker

July 24th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in How to copy DVD movies

Filmmaking is quite expensive and all the more if it is thought of as a hobby. People before who are known to produce films are thought of as filthy rich. Today because of technological advances, filmmaking has changed its face. It’s easier for you to make your own movie now even when you have limited budget. An indication of this is the rise of many independent filmmakers.

Filmmaking enthusiasts having limited resources now have a venue to express their craft. There are also award-giving bodies that zero in on recognizing these non-mainstream filmmakers.

A filmmaking software is one of the latest inventions that can help a lot of non-Hollywood yet equally competent filmmakers. What makes this great is that it can be accessed without charge. What you need to do is to find out more about each of them and understand which part of the filmmaking process this process would fit in.

The first filmmaking software you might want to get to know of being a filmmaker is the Celtx. This works almost like the Final Draft software. It is a free, open-source screenwriting/pre-production software. This also allows you to mark up the script for production breakdown and others.

Cinepaint or what is used to be called the FilmGimp is another software. This is a paint program that has been developed for and also by film studios meant for giving finishing touches to high resolution image files. This program has been used in many movies for several times now and it’s about to come out with a new version called Glasgow.

Another software you can avail of is the Video Capturix 99. It is a user-friendly video capturing tool that lets you capture any simple movie footages from any video source, freeze and save them in .BMP format or simply copy them in the clipboard for future use.

Adobe After Effects is also a good program for creating high-resolution animation. You can have great benefit in performing high-end and expensive video-editing tasks in this software. Its standard version can provide you already with high-end 2D animations, composites and most advanced special effects intended for films, broadcast video, multimedia presentations and even the web.

Movie Magic Scheduling is a standard software for Hollywood when it comes to scheduling. This is however protected with strict laws on copyright. This is also true for its equivalent in budget preparation known as Movie Magic Budgeting. Now that you are familiar with some of the film production software choices you have out there on the web. All you need to do is find out which ones you are going to need.
