Abe Lincoln in Illinois: This is a top notch story of a key piece of American history. Raymond Massey is simply outstanding as Abe Lincoln. This film is an accurate recount of President Lincoln’s life. The film is based on Robert Sherwood’s highly acclaimed play. Raymond Massey, Gene Lockhart, Ruth Gordon, Mary Howard all star in this film. (1940 Historical Drama)
Chocolat: Vianne, along with her young daughter, moves to a small village in southern France, and opens a chocolate shop. When she keeps her shop open on Sundays, the very religious town is up in arms. Eventually the spirit of the mother/daughter team wins over the town, and opens the minds of the conservative and religious people.
Belizaire the Cajun: Assante is well cast as a charismatic drug trader in love with the Cajun, who is spouse of a prosperous Englishman. This is a choppy and somehow unsurprising drama in reference to the English prejudice and brutality toward to Cajuns in 19th century Louisiana. Cast includes Armand Assante, Gail Youngs, Michael Schoeffiing, Stephen McHattie, Can Patton, and Nancy Barrett. (100 minutes, 1986)
The Sentinel: Adorned Secret Service Representative-who’s cheating with the First Female-is blackmailed, Crazier and Pryor are re-teamed in this foolish comedy in reference to a deaf gentleman and a blind guy who accidentally become kill suspects and take it on the lam, wishing to catch the genuine killers. 5′ authors containing Crazier are credited for this worked, foul-mouthed comedy; two such gifted megastars merit more superior. Cast includes Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland, Eva Longoria, Kim Basinger, Martin Donovan, Ritchie Coster, Paul Calderon, and Gloria Reuben.(107 minutes, 2006)
